Beetle Juicey Hallowe'en

 Happy Hallowe'en!!!

We decided to dress up together.
We came up with a number of fun duos and in the end chose to be
Beetle Juice and Lydia this year.
We figured Beetle Juice should be in the well known striped suit and
although it's less well known, I wanted the wedding scene outfit for being Lydia.
Red is just fun!

I hope everyone had as much fun as we did dressing up :)
And just for the record, it's fun having jet-black punk hair!

And what Hallowe'en would be complete without a cake? Not ours (or mine)!!!

Just to whet your taste buds, if the photos aren't enough, let me tell you about the layers:
Two layers of pumpkin cake, sandwiching one of dark chocolate,
separated by chocolate chip cream cheese icing and salted caramel,
and enswathed by a cooked deep, dark, rich chocolate frosting...

 In LOVE with this cake!

Another Sweetapolita creation... and maybe my favourite, ever: Midnight Pumpkin.
It should be made in pans the size she suggests,
rather than my too-small 7 1/2" pan as the cake is pretty heavy and slippery for the height it creates.
I really should have staked it with a straw or something.
Next time.
Which there is rather likely to be a few :)
But that'll be after Christmas, when I hope to have more springform in my life... :) :) :)
